Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has applauded the judgment by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), which has unanimously affirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

The Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, described the judgment as a victory for democracy and truth, and a momentous affirmation of the Nigerian people’s trust in President Tinubu’s leadership.

“This victory is a testament to the strength of our democracy, the resilience of our institutions, and the belief of our people in a brighter future,” the Governor said.

He applauded the PEPC’s dismissal of the consolidated petitions presented by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), along with their Presidential candidates, describing the decision as a reinforcement of the people’s will and the transparency of Nigeria’s electoral system.

The Governor also congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) family and hailed the legal team that represented the president and the party.

Inuwa also commended the erudition of the judges and indeed the Nigerian Judiciary for their diligent handling of the cases and ultimately upholding the sanctity of Nigerian democracy.

He noted that the meticulous review has unequivocally validated the legitimacy of the President and Vice President’s election, confirming that they were duly elected by the majority of lawful votes.

He also hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its impartial role during the polls as the unbiased umpire in the electoral process.

According to him, “The victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, in the presidential election petition court proceedings is a triumph for democracy and truth.”

The Governor said that, “It paves the way for the President to continue with his quality leadership for the benefit of all Nigerians”.

Reflecting on President Tinubu’s first 100 days in office, Governor Inuwa highlighted his unwavering commitment and bold steps in addressing the nation’s myriad of challenges.

He assured that the Government of Gombe State wholeheartedly supports the President’s vision for a better Nigeria and believes his leadership represents renewed hope for the nation.

Inuwa Yahaya pledged the continued support of the Government and people of Gombe State to President Tinubu as he leads the nation towards prosperity and progress.
