The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has arrested two suspects for allegedly supplying illicit drugs, uniforms, and flag materials to Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents in the Lake Chad region.
According to Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, MNJTF spokesperson, the arrests were made in separate operations along Kekeno-Cross Kauwa and Gubio-Damasak roads in Borno.
Recovered items include: Substantial quantity of substances, 198 parcels of marijuana, two sacks containing 19 bundles of clothing materials for making uniforms and flags.
Additionally, troops rescued three women and a baby, suspected family members of terrorists, who claimed to have escaped from terrorist enclaves in Marte Local Government Area.
The operation disrupts terrorist supply chains and rescues innocent lives.
The suspects and rescued individuals are undergoing investigation and profiling.
