A senior Hamas official told AFP that the United States under Donald Trump, who claimed victory in the presidential election, must end its “blind support” for Israel in the war in Gaza.
“This blind support for the Zionist entity must end because it comes at the expense of the future of our people and the security and stability of the region,” Bassem Naim, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, told AFP.
Trump announced his victory in the election held on Tuesday, asserting that he and his campaign “overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible,” marking a remarkable return to power for the former president.
He has won key battleground states including Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, and is leading in several others, significantly narrowing Kamala Harris’s path to victory.
