TRUCKS Transit Parks Ltd. (TTP) has participated in the official launch of the UNILAG-Employment Clinic: Education to Employment Transition Programme (EETP), with the theme “Blue Career Insights.”

The event which took place at the University of Lagos, brought together leaders from both academia and the maritime industry.

Mr. Jama Onwubuariri, Managing Director of TTP, was a key panelist, offering his expertise on the transition from education to employment. During the session, he surmised that to enable the education-to-employment transition, students need to identify their passion, minimize distractions, identify socio-economic problems around them and research their solutions, be team players, stand on the right principles and avoid destructive habits.

Onwubuariri also highlighted the success of TTP’s Ètò call-up system, a pioneering technology that has revolutionized logistics and transport management at Apapa and Tincan ports. Mr. Onwubuariri’s insights underscored the critical role of innovation and practical solutions in enhancing graduate employability.

The event featured esteemed guests such as the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alh. GboyegaOyetola, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof FolasadeOgunsola, Princess RonkeKosoko, Chief Executive Officer of Maritime Innovation Hub and other Heads of Industries who shared their perspectives on the importance of collaborative efforts in preparing students for the workforce. Their contributions emphasized the need for a robust partnership between academia and industry.

The UNILAG-Employment Clinic, EETP, is designed to provide students with the skills and insights needed to navigate the transition from university to employment effectively. The program’s success highlights the value of industry-academia collaborations in driving positive outcomes for students and the broader economy.
