Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has stated that the appointment of Senator David Umahi as the Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been instrumental in unlocking the support and solidarity of the Igbo people for the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government.
The Igbo apex group disclosed this in a statement signed by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, on Sunday as Umahi marked one year in office.
According to the group, Umahi’s historic appointment has not only brought joy and pride to the Igbo people but also signified a new era of partnership between the Southeast and the Federal Government.
Isiguzoro assured the President that the people of the Southeast remain committed to working hand in hand with his government toward a brighter and more prosperous future for Nigeria.
He commended President Tinubu for the ongoing infrastructural development in the Southeast, particularly the construction and rehabilitation of federal highways.
According to him, these projects have played a significant role in fostering a renewed sense of unity and cooperation between the region and the Federal Government.
