A United Nation Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF) social policy specialist, Mr Isah Ibrahim Maru has lost two of his children to fire inferno at his residence in Zamfara.
Mr Isah Maru was working with UNICEF Sokoto office when the fire incident destroyed his resident at Maru town, headquarters of Maru local government area in Zamfara state.
Confirming the sad news today when members of the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zamfara state council paid a condolence visit to the victim family in Maru town, elder brother to Mr Isah Ibrahim Maru, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim narrated that the night inferno has burnt down everything in the house.
According to him, Up till this time, nobody can tell the real cause of the fire accident
“There was no light in the area as of the time of the incident; in fact, everybody was asleep then, as at the time when the incident occurred “.
He confirmed that the two little children who died were 7 and 8-year-old girls who were inside their room and could not help themselves out when the fire engulfed the house.
“There were nine family members, comprising two wives and children in the house and seven of them were lucky to have either struggled out by themselves or helped out good Samaritan’s”.
The delegation of the NUJ, Correspondent Chapel prayed Allah to protect the family from future occurrences, added that the incident was a test from Allah, they should take heart.
