UNICEF reiterates commitment to support education planning in Bauchi

Bauchi Field Office (BFO) of the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) has reiterated its commitment to supporting education planning that will in turn improve standard and quality service delivery in the sector.

The assertion was made by the Chief of Field Office, UNICEF, Dr Rane Tushar while giving a remark at a 2-day validation and dissemination meeting of of State Education Strategic Plan (SESP) and State Education Strategic Operation Plan (SESOP) organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with UNICEF, Bauchi Field Office on Saturday.

Tushar Rane who was represented by Education Officer, Raphael Aiyedipe stressed the importance strategic planning in achieving the set objectives in improving effective education systems.

He added that a well thought out plan will result in easy operation which will in turn improve learning in the schools stressing that UNICEF is always ready to give necessary technical support.

The UNICEF CFO further stressed that using accurate data in planning will always bring out best results as it will afford implicators the opportunity to know which areas to focus on.

He then charged the participants to ensure that they did their best to get accurate data to feature in the SESP and SESOP validation and dissemination.

In her remarks, State Commissioner of Education, Dr Jamila Dahiru commended UNICEF for supporting the state to improve the education sector.

She stressed that the various interventions by UNICEF has really helped in the reform of the education sector particularly since the inception of the present administration.

The Commissioner also stressed the importance of the meeting which She said will focus ib on the validation and dissemination of the SESP and SESOP which will be implemented for the next few years.

She then charged the relevant agencies participating in the meeting to ensure that accurate data was used where necessary so that implementation of the plan will be easy.

The Commissioner also commended
National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Ondo for the facilitation of the meeting saying that the result will be a guide in the implementation of the reforms in the education sector.

She particularly commended the Acting DG of NIEPA, Dr. A. D. Shofoyeke, for allowing his staff to come to Bauchi for facilitation of the meeting.
