The Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ishaq Oloyede has urged Nigerians to remain united and work in synergy towards ensuring better growth and development of the country.

Oloyede made the call while speaking at the 15th Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) national honour’s day programme, themed, ‘Nigeria’s Economic Reforms: Mitigating the challenges through sustainable economic measures’ in Ilorin, Kwara state capital on Saturday.

Oloyede said that unity helps to drive growth and prosperity when citizens work as a united people.

He charged people who share common faith and values to come together in unity to contribute to the society.

Oloyede also advised the wealthy and the highly placed people in the society to always remember those in need to make them feel happy.

Also speaking, a legal icon, Professor Yusuf Ali (SAN), said that it is in people’s common interest to do good at all times.

He said that many individuals, who had started with nothing, are today blessed by God to an unimaginable level.

The learned silk advised wealthy individuals to inculcate the habit of assisting the needy in their children.

In his lecture, titled ‘Nigeria’s Economic Reforms: Mitigating the challenges through sustainable economic measures’, the guest lecturer, Professor Musa Aibinu, who is the vice chancellor, Summit University, Offa, said that there is need to adopt digital knowledge to improve economic development of the country.

He said Nigerian citizens need to leverage on digital transformation for better economic development.

Professor Aibinu also advocated for knowledge sharing and adoption of emerging technology in order to move the nation forward.

He canvassed a shift from certificate based systems of education to incorporation of skill to ensure self-reliance

Some of the award recipients include Associate Professor Barakat Raji and Engineer Rahman Amao, who expressed confidence that the recognition done on them will make them contribute more to human development.
