The Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, has urged the Nigeria Police to unravel the mystery surrounding the untimely death of a popular Nigerian rapper singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad.

Oba Elegushi gave this charge through his lawyer, Barrister Adepeju Omotayo of Bandele Omotayo & Co at the continuation of trial of two suspects, James Adeshola and Awiye Azeez, on the claims of unwarranted cyber bullying and defamation he suffered in their hands because of the death of Mohbad.

Omotayo, while making the call, further stated that the monarch was very much on his position on this matter as he had continued to admonish all those seeking justice to do so responsibly, vowing that the Kabiesi would not allow anyone no matter his or her status or position in the society tarnish his good name and reputation for whatever gain.

This was just as she restated that Oba Elegushi never met or interacted with the late Aloba, his wife or any member of his family and hoped that this put an end to the needless buffoonery of dragging him into the matter.

According to Omotayo, Oba Elegushi had pointedly made it known that his desire as a father and a leader is to see the unraveling of the circumstances leading to the death of Mohbad, saying that this he did emphatically to Mr Josiah Aloba, Mohbad’s dad, at a meeting with his legal team at Zone 2 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police, Onikan when Mr. Aloba was invited for questioning over unfounded statements and allegations against the Kabiesi.

She recalled that reports also indicated that Oba Elegushi demonstrated magnanimity at the said meeting by intervening and ensuring that the police did not detain Mr. Aloba as the monarch’s interest was to see late Mohbad and his family get justice and not to be oppressed.

The trail of the two accused persons will resume on July 5, 2024 at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.
