Popular Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, has described Prime Video’s Unscripted African Original, Last One Laughing (LOL) Naija as a platform to launch Nigerian comedy on the global scene.
Basketmouth, who was recently unveiled as the host of the show, explained that this makes him feel great as a citizen of the world’s most important black nation, Nigeria.
He, therefore, expressed excitement to be part of the show.
“I see this as the perfect way to make Nigerian comedy break into the global market and it makes me feel like a Nigerian in the business.
“Afrobeat broke into the global market but Nigerian comedy hasn’t. I am happy to be part of it,” he said.
Also, the Head of Middle-East and Africa Originals, Prime Videos, Ned Mitchell, spoke on the strategy of his company to push the Nigerian comedy into the world, reiterating that the six series comedy show will not be pushed out at once but in two episodes.
