The Urhobo Youth Worldwide, the youth wing of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), has called for caution and an end to the ongoing protests, urging Nigerians to give President Ahmed Tinubu’s reform policies a chance to work.

The group’s Ethnic President, Mr Kelly Umukoro, expressed concern over the hardship protest, stating that it has been hijacked by hoodlums, leading to death and destruction of public assets.

He emphasized that the federal government’s policies need time to take effect.

Umukoro highlighted President Tinubu’s achievements in his first year in office and recalled promises made by the federal government to fix the East/West road, improve security, and ensure food security.

He advised Urhobo youths to organize peaceful protests instead of resorting to violence.

The group is optimistic about the federal government’s promises, including the N50,000 grant to 10,000 Niger Delta youths and the fixing of the East/West road in six months.

They urge Urhobo youths to engage the government constructively, citing the unpleasant experiences of previous protests like #EndSars and #EndEFCC.
