United States Democratic candidate and Vice President, Kamala Harris, has stated that her tenure, if elected president, will not be a continuation of President Joe Biden’s administration.
Harris made this known during an interview with Fox News Channel on Wednesday night.
The vice president addressed a variety of topics, including immigration and security, among others.
When asked whether she would continue from where Biden left off if elected in the upcoming US election in November, Harris emphasised that she is her own person, representing a new generation of leadership.
She noted that, like every new president, she would bring her own experiences and perspectives to the office.
She said, “Let me be very clear. My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency, and like every new president that comes into office, I will bring my life experiences, my professional experiences, and fresh new ideas. I represent a new generation of leadership.
“For example, as someone who has not spent the majority of my career in Washington DC, I invite ideas: whether it be from the Republicans who are supporting me, who were just on stage with me minutes ago, and the business sector and others, who can contribute to the decisions that I make.”
