Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump both held rallies on Friday night in the Milwaukee area, seven miles from each other, as part of a critical push for votes in one the ‘swing-states’, Wisconsin as recently reported by Tribune Online.

This area is essential for both parties as it boasts the highest number of Democratic votes while its surrounding suburbs are largely Republican.

Trump, who narrowly won Wisconsin in 2016 but lost it in 2020, is particularly focused on regaining support in those suburban regions, where his backing declined in the last election.

“Both candidates recognize that the road to the White House runs directly through Milwaukee County,” said Hilario Deleon, chair of the county’s Republican Party.

Harris’ motorcade left the Milwaukee airport about 40 minutes before Trump’s private jet, known as Trump Force One, landed. The two planes parked near each other, but the candidates did not cross paths.

Both events drew roughly the same number of attendees, according to estimates from each campaign, with Trump taking the stage just seven minutes after Harris.
