The statement read, “On 20/04/2025, operatives of the Igarra Area Command, Igueben Divisional Police Headquarters, Operation Rescue Teams with vigilantes and hunters in a coordinated but daring rescue operation, successfully rescued a total of six kidnapped victims.

“Regrettably, the team lost one vigilante, Ijeh Moses, as a result of a fatal gunshot injury sustained during a gun duel that ensued while one victim sustained injury but is currently responding to treatment.

“Some of the kidnappers were believed to have escaped with bullet wounds as traces of blood were seen on their escape route. Two of the victims were kidnapped on 19/04/2025 at about 18:30hrs along Udoneria-Ewatto road and four others were kidnapped on 20/04/2025 along a road leading to Udoeguare Community.”
