Taraba state Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday, denied that they have no plans to rig the upcoming governorship and state houses of assembly election as alleged by the APC in the state.

Mr Andeta’rang Irammae, the PDP State Publicity Secretary was
reacting to the allegation by the former ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Alhaji Hassan Ardo Jika, who is a chieftain of APC in the state, denied that the allegation was a falsehood, targeted at blackmailing the PDP.

In a press briefing at the PDP Secretariat Jalingo, the publicity secretary said, PDP was well rooted in the state since 1999 to date, has delivered the desired dividend of democracy to the people and has no reason or plans to rig any election.

According to him, APC in Taraba after seeing the PDP’s brighter chances of winning in the upcoming polls has resorted to cheap blackmail against the party to create tension.

“We have no plans to rig any election, the APC is just desperate after knowing that PDP is rooted and has delivered dividends of democracy to the people, they have resorted to cheap blackmail against us to win sympathy.

“We wish to warn the APC in Taraba to desist from its cheap blackmail against our party. Our achievements in the state since 1999 are the reason why we have been winning the election and we are confident to win again. We have no plans to rig” Andeta’rang denied.

The publicity secretary also advised the APC to embark on an issue-based campaign rather than resorting to cheap blackmail.

He also accused the APC of sponsoring thugs to attack a PDP house of assembly candidate for Donga state constituency, Hon. capt. Douglas Ndatse while on his campaign tour over the weekend.

He advised the APC to adopt a decent way of politicking in its quest to ascend to power in the state, just as he said the attack on the PDP candidate has been reported to the appropriate authorities for investigation.
