Nationnewslead reports that The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission on Tuesday assured all stakeholders that it would conduct a free, fair and credible Local Government Council election come March 6, 2021.
It enjoined stakeholders to work assiduously towards ensuring that they contribute their quota towards the success of the exercise. DSIEC Chairman, Chief Mike Ogbodu, gave the assurance and made the request while declaring open a capacity building workshop for journalists in Asaba.
The one-day capacity workshop was organized by DSIEC in collaboration with Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Delta State Council, of the NUJ, Michael Ikeogwu, assured the people of the state that its members will discharge their responsibilities in line with the ethics of the profession.
Also speaking, the DSIEC Commissioner, Public Affairs and Communication, James Umukoro, said the workshop, “Is intended to further enlighten participants on their expected countless roles and duties geared towards the realization of unbiased reportage and non-sectional news regarding the conduct and actual outcome of the March 6, 2021Local Government Council election.”
