Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, said his administration will continue to strengthen and develop bilateral relationships with other countries to improve the growth of the state’s economy for the benefit of residents of the state.

Governor Sanwo-olu gave this pledge when the Prime Minister of Grenada, Mr. Dickon Mitchell, paid him a courtesy visit in the company of the Chairman of Dangote Groups, Alhaji Aliko Dangote at the Lagos House, Marina, saying that the state had a lot of opportunities, that Grenada stands to benefit from.

Sanwo-Olu noted that Nigeria and Grenada had many potentials, urging that the two countries should look at how to advance themselves in the areas of culture, tourism, and entertainment, among others.

“We should look at art, culture, entertainment, and look at how we can develop our mineral resources, we need to galvanize the Carribean- Africa relationship,” the governor said

Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the Grenada Prime Minister for his leadership skills and called on Africans to continue to strengthen partnership in the area of Agriculture, Food security, Entertainment, Tourism and Infrastructural development.

He equally commended Alhaji Dangote for the audacious refinery project he set up in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, which he noted is the largest in the world, expressing optimism that Nigerians would be the sole beneficiaries in the long run.

The governor told the Grenada Prime Minister that the partnership Nigeria formed with Dangote was a good one, saying that everyone needed to learn from his courage in the business industry.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Grenada, Mr Dickson Mitchell, in his speech, said the visit was to consolidate on his investment discussion with Lagos, which featured during Governor Sanwo-Olu’s visit to Grenada last year, just as he lauded the giant stride of Nigeria in the area of Agriculture, Fashion, Music and cultural heritage.

Mitchell said part of the plans was to work on logistics for movement of goods between the two countries.
