The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Barr. Asue Ighodalo, on Saturday, assured the people of Udo and Ora Communities in Ovia South-West Local Government Area in the state that if voted into office, his administration would complete all the projects embarked upon by the current administration in the state.
He, however, appealed to the people to vote for the PDP in the September 21 governorship election in Edo, adding that a vote for him would translate to more progress and development in the state.
Ighodalo, who stated this during his ward-to-ward campaign visit to Udo and Ora wards, assured the residents in Udo and Ora of his resolve to construct the Udo-Iguobazuwa road if elected as governor in Edo
Ighodalo said, “If voted into office, we are going to construct the Udo-Iguobazuwa road, and we will ensure we complete all the projects that the current administration in the state has started in the area.”
He thanked the people for turning out enmasse to receive him and his entourage, adding that the large gathering of the people exemplified the love the people have for the PDP in the area.
On his part, the PDP deputy governorship candidate, Osarodion Ogie, has flagged off the construction of the Udo-Ofunama road, aimed at easing the suffering of the people as well as providing access to transporting farm produce from the hinterlands to the city centres.
“We will not betray the trust you people have for us, as we are going to serve the people and ensure we improve the welfare conditions of all Edolites.
“Our aim is to serve the people, and we are well equipped with the skills and other requirements needed to serve the people better.
Earlier, the Director-General of the PDP guber campaign organisation, Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, lampooned the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government for the hardship and suffering in the country.
He appealed to the people to vote en masse for the PDP in the election in order to liberate Edo from the current sufferings in the country.
“We need people that understand governance and will industrialise Edo State, and this is what the PDP and its candidates, Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Osarodion Ogie, stand for.”
Speaking on behalf of other decampees to the PDP, the duo of Mr. Ovie Ighofose and Mr. Roland Ohenhen thanked the leadership of the party for accepting them into their folds, noting that they will no doubt add value to the PDP.
