THE present Nigeria is unhealthy; our land needs saving. Who do we turn to for help and who will assist us? There is no security; banditry is on the rise and innocent citizens are killed like beasts.
Poverty has silently crept in and even the rich have started feeling the heat of a poor and harsh economy. Everyone is suffering and the government seems not to hear the cries.
Nigeria is in a state of despair, citizens wallow in penury due to economic instability in the face of skyrocketing cost of goods and services. Daily, prices of commodities increase with no solution in sight.
The situation in the country is spiraling in dangerous way and it is pathetic that few leaders are seeing the danger signs.
This is an appeal to the government at all levels to arise and help the people; it is time to serve the purpose for which they were elected. We want a better future! We want a better Nigeria; a future where there is compassion for the citizens, a future where citizens do not have to struggle hard just to waste it on the outrageous price of petroleum.
We desire a future where citizens are at peace with the government. A future whereby citizens’ lives and properties are protected and there is no insecurity in the state. When citizens leave this capitalist world and the government begins to focus on the needs of the citizens.
While citizens understand that the government is doing what it could to ease this burden, it is obvious that they are not doing enough or not really conscious of how bad the situation is.
Government needs to prioritise the welfare of people over the interest of few others Citizens demand that our leaders prioritise our urgent needs so that we can work together to build a state that works for all.
