THE popular prayer festival of The Church of the Lord Aladura, Tabieorar Festival, has turned into an interdenominational gathering over the years. This year has ignited Christians, Nigerians, and people across the globe to keep their faith alive and be steadfast in the Lord despite the overwhelming adversity of life and challenges in the country.

The all-night program hosted hundreds of people from all walks of life, who gathered to seek the face of God and intercede for the nation and the world at large, at the Holy Mount of Tabieorar, at the church headquarters in Ogere Remo, Ogun State.

During the annual 13 Blessings event, pilgrims were reminded of the importance of walking in faith against all odds, despite the high expectations of the visitors to the prayer ground last Thursday.

The spirit-filled programme with the theme “Walking in Faith” featured intense prayers and thanksgiving from the church’s leader, Rufus Ositelu, as well as from the worshippers. The programme began with a hymnal procession, followed by several praises, which then led to various offerings to God and numerous prayers for help.

Primate Ositelu, speaking at the event, mentioned that the prayer festival was particularly relevant given the current situation in the country, which has resulted in significant hardship for many Nigerians. The cleric emphasized that the only solution to the problem is to maintain faith and remain steadfast in God, as he is the only solution to these issues.

Ositelu urged Nigerians to place their trust in God rather than in man for a significant change and restoration of the country. He added, “Our leaders may have failed, but God will not fail us. Let us all place our trust in Him, follow His guidance, and maintain righteousness, regardless of the challenges we face as humans or Nigerians.”

The cleric, who is also the president of the World Council of Churches (WCC) for Africa, urged the government to take immediate action to end the hardships in the country. He emphasized the need for a concerted effort to rescue the nation from poverty, insecurity, corruption, and other factors that threaten its peace and progress.

Senator Gbenga Daniel, who was one of the dignitaries that graced the event, acknowledged the challenging times Nigerians are facing and assured that things will improve by the grace of God during his speech at the prayer festival.

He urged Nigerians to support and pray for divine guidance for the leaders and pledged to be more dedicated to the nation’s improvement and the advancement of the work of God.

When the church leader mounted the high altar for the 13 Blessings prayer point at the prayer ground, the people and extensions went into a spiritual fervor. This was the high point of the event, as they all prayed for forgiveness of sins, cleansing, mercy, blessings, good children, victory over life’s battles, salvation, healing, joy, favor, the Holy Spirit, and steadfastness.
