Popular Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has opened up about why ending her marriage was the best decision she ever made.
She shared this on Instagram while responding to a single mother who sought her advice on how to handle life after separation.
In her reply, Tonto clarified that she was the one who made the decision to leave her marriage, emphasizing that it was for both her and her son’s well-being.

She stated, “First and foremost, I was the one who chose to walk away from my marriage, not the other way around. It was a difficult situation, and I needed to escape, not just for my sake but for my child’s too. It was the best decision I ever made.”
The actress went on to encourage the single mother, who had privately messaged her, asking how she coped after her ex-husband left her and their child.
Tonto advised her to focus on personal growth and prioritize her child’s welfare.
“Remember, you have the power to become the person you aspire to be if you commit to your growth and invest in yourself.
“Always prioritize the well-being of your children, while seeking strength and guidance from God,” she added.
Tonto also noted that sometimes the end of a relationship can mark the beginning of new blessings.
However, she advised that if the marriage is still worth saving, one should fight for it.
She added, “I don’t have all the answers, and I’m no expert in this journey. My biggest teacher has been love. I let God do His thing, and that has been enough for me. Draw your strength from God, and most importantly, keep your family matters private.”
