Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, has addressed the ongoing rivalry between his son and fellow Nigerian artist Davido.
In an exclusive interview with Punch Newspapers, Chief Balogun revealed that he advised Wizkid to disregard provocations from Davido’s supporters and remain focused on his career.

“I told my son not to pay attention to the comments from Davido’s fans. They are only looking for controversy to benefit themselves,” Chief Balogun stated, explaining that such distractions are common but should be ignored.
He further noted that he has observed much of the rivalry being stirred up online, urging Wizkid to rise above it.
