The Ogun State Police Command is currently investigating the mysterious disappearance of Eno Okon, a 54-year-old woman who went missing during an annual event at a Pentecostal church along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The incident occurred on August 11.

According to PUNCH Metro, Eno Okon, who resides in Adesan in the Mowe area of the state, had accepted an invitation from her neighbour to attend the church event. However, during the course of the program, Eno informed the neighbour she was sitting with that she needed to use the restroom.

After considerable time passed, the neighbour realised Eno had not returned. Concerned, the neighbour began searching for her but was unable to locate her.

Eno’s husband, Mr Okon, spoke to a correspondent on Wednesday and expressed his frustration over the fruitless efforts to find his wife since her disappearance. The investigation into this case is ongoing.

He said, “My wife and I used to live in Lagos before we relocated to Mowe.  I was not at home when her neighbour invited her that night. She was also not the only one who followed her, the woman invited other neighbours who followed her to the programme.

They all sat together so that they wouldn’t miss each other. When it was around 2am, she told them that she wanted to urinate. When she did not return, they started to look for her.

They later thought she had gone home.  When they got home, they discovered that she was not at home. When I got to know, I went to meet the woman, and we went back to the church to look for her.

We also went to Sagamu when we thought she mistakenly followed another bus from there.”

Okon stated that the incident had been reported to three different police stations. He also mentioned that the church’s leadership had been informed about the situation.

He explained, “When we couldn’t locate her, we visited the police stations in Mowe, Sagamu, and the one situated on the church premises. We also informed a pastor within the church. Following our reports, her picture was posted at the entrance of the gate, and an announcement was made during the Sunday Thanksgiving Service, which was the third day of the program.”

When reached for comment, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola expressed unawareness of the report. She replied, “I am not aware. Please send a text for me to follow up.” However, she had not responded to the text message sent at the time of filing this report.

These changes aim to streamline the narrative and improve clarity. Please let me know if you have any specific requests or further edits.
