A women’s group, the Frontline Women Association in Ajaokuta Local Government Area (LGA), has congratulated Kogi Governor-elect, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, on his victory at the November 11, 2023, governorship election in the state.

The leader of the group, Hon. Sefiya Orahanoh Abubakar, while describing the victory of Ododo and his deputy, Joel, as expected and well deserved, noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in the state has delivered the dividends of democracy to the people in the last seven and a half years.

“The victory is expected because of the performance of the Yahaya Bello-led administration in terms of infrastructure provision and human capital development.

According to the group, among the numerous achievements of the government was the inclusion of women in the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, which they said has given them the needed voice in governance.

“The women are better off in Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration far more than any other administration since the creation of the state in 1999.

We now have a voice in the governance of the state. We now have women occupying higher positions of responsibility in the state. We have shown our appreciation through the ballot. We will continue to support you and the incoming administration.

The group also commended Governor Bello for laying a very solid foundation in terms of the provision of critical infrastructure across the state and his ability to unite the various ethnic groups in Kogi State.

The group also commended the House of Representatives member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Barr. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, for standing solidly behind the governor-elect and the APC.

They commended the permanent secretary in charge of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Hajia Habiba Oyiza Tijani, the House of Assembly member representing Ajaokuta state constituency, the chairman of the council, and other stakeholders who worked very hard to ensure the victory.

They expressed confidence in the ability of the governor-elect to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
