Operatives of Yobe State Police Command have arrested a 33-year-old suspect for allegedly molesting a nine-month-old girl in Potiskum area of the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by Spokesman for the state’s Police Command, Dungus Abdulkarim on Friday.
Abdulkarim noted that the suspect
identified as Ibrahim Shaibu Goni allegedly took the child from her mother and committed the heinous act, leaving the child with noticeable lacerations.

He added that Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, condemned the act and assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted and justice will be served.
Abdulkarim urged parents to be vigilant about their children’s safety and warned potential perpetrators that stricter penalties await them.
He said: “The victim and the suspect have been taken to a medical facility for examination.
“Let’s focus on promoting awareness and safety. Thank you for your usual cooperation.”
