Yobe State Police Command in the year 2024, successfully investigated and prosecuted a total of 454 with 116 cases still under investigation.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Command PPRO, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim made available to Journalists on Thursday stating that the Command achieved significant successes in 2024 as the CP lauded the Personnel for the strides.

He stated that, “The Command is proud to announce its remarkable achievements in maintaining law and order throughout the state in 2024. This milestone was a testament to the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.

“During the period under review, a significant decrease in crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and homicide, was recorded.

“In furtherance to its crime preventive strategies and protection of vulnerable groups, measures were implemented to protect women and children from harm, resulting in a decrease in sexual-related offences.

“Similarly, 17 cases of unnatural offences were recorded and are being thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.

“Consequently, a massive reduction in minor crimes, such as theft, burglary, cheating, and farmer/herder conflicts, was also achieved.”

The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, emphasised that the Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across the state stating that,”This commitment is reflected in the Command’s efforts to sustain its successes and build on its achievements in the coming year.”

The Command acknowledged the collaboration and cooperation of the members of the public and enjoined them to continue with the efforts as it assured its working relationship to sustain the tempo while forging ahead to a new year.
