It was a gathering of who’s who in the political sphere of Adamawa state and beyond as the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Bathiya Wesley, took his heartthrob to the altar to say “I do!”
The exchange of conjugal rites between Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley and Faith Ndana’acha Polycarp at LCCN Cathedral Nassarawo Jimeta marks the end of their bachelorhood and spinsterhood.
The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, present at the church, enjoined the couple to live a faithful and obedient life. She also conveyed warm greetings from her boss, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, praying for stability, peace, love, and understanding in their marital home.
The Arch Bishop of LCCN, who doubles as the President of the Lutheran World Federation, Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus, congratulated the couple, wishing them all the blessings of married life.
In a message, Bishop Shadrack Theophilus advised the newlyweds to build their marriage on love, patience, and consideration for a happy Christian home.
The wedding train moved to Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola for a reception where Governor Umaru Fintiri and other people from all walks of life joined in the celebration of love and union between Hon. Bathiya and his bride Faith.
The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and his Taraba State counterpart, Agbu Kefas, PDP Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagun, Deputy Governor of Adamawa State Prof. GK Faruta, two former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation, Dr. Barr Boss Mustapha and Engr Babachir David Lawal, as well as the Chairman Conference of Nigeria Speakers, were among the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
Other personalities present at the wedding ceremony included Retired General Hananiya Halidu, former Adamawa Speakers, Senators, House of Representatives Lawmakers, and State House of Assembly Lawmakers.
Also in attendance were first-class chiefs of Lunguda and Mbula, Local Government Areas chairmen and development areas administrators, councilors, and grassroots politicians.
