The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), the umbrella body of all the youth groups drawn across the six geo-political zones, on Friday lauded the leadership qualities of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.
The body noted that the tireless commitment of the former Benue State governor in enhancing the efficiency of the Nigerian government and driving key policy initiatives could not be overemphasized.
In a press statement endorsed by Comrade Goodluck Ibem, the President General of CONYL, stated that “The SGF visionary leadership in managing national affairs and ensuring smooth coordination between various government agencies has significantly contributed to the progress we are witnessing today.
“Despite the complex challenges faced by the government, the commitment of the SGF to ensuring seamless governance has been unwavering.
“The leadership traits of the SGF in streamlining government operations and fostering transparency has set a new standard of efficiency.
“The strategic direction of the SGF in coordinating government policies has been crucial in fostering national development.
“The office of the SGF has efficiently monitored and Coordinated the implementation of government policies and programmes; served asa frontline advisory institution of the Presidency; drove policy formulation, harmonization, and implementation; and monitored institutions of governance which has made a profound impact on governance and national development.”
CONYL also commended what it termed Akume’s “ability to navigate the complexities and challenges of his office with resilience, ensuring that the government’s priorities are met even under challenging circumstances.
He said, “The dedication of Senator George Akume as SGF continues to inspire confidence in the administration and the Nigerian people.”
This was just as the body expressed confidence that the SGF would continue to achieve even greater milestones in his esteemed role and service to the nation.
It praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Senator George Akume as the SGF, describing Akume as “a round peg in a round hole.”
The group urged Nigerians all “to continue to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu and his team as the take the nation to greater heights.”
