The highly anticipated Africa’s biggest reality television show, Big Brother Naija, made a return yesterday with the housemates being introduced.
This year’s edition is titled “No Loose Guard.”
Below are ten things to know about season 9 of Big Brother.
1. The show kicked off with an exciting twist, with housemates entering in pairs. They are couples, siblings, or friends. This is the first time in the history of Big Brother Naija that this will be happening. The contestants were also auditioned in pairs.
2. Voting during the show this season has been made easy, giving viewers the option to vote using the MyDStv and GOtv apps, with up to 250 votes available per user. Fans can also vote on the Big Brother Naija website, which allows for 100 votes to support their favourites.
3. The season is set to come with a new game twist. Here, viewers get to predict the winner of the weekly immunity challenge.
This gives the viewers opportunities to be active participants in the show as well. The game will commence on August 1 and run till August 26.
4. The season launches a new game known as Custodian Challenge, which will be held on the first night after the housemates enter the house. Following this will be the Head of House game to pick who will lead the housemates for the first week, followed by the Immunity Challenge and nominations.
5. One of the major exciting aspects fans of the show look forward to each season is the upgraded and new designs of the house, which is not short of what will be delivered this season. The house design has been completely redesigned, providing a brand-new and exciting setting for the contestants to put out their episodes of drama.
6. 30 Big Brother Naija fans will also win 2 million naira each in the Fave lock promo only for Dstv and Gotv subscribers.
7. For Big Brother Naija Season 9, the show will witness the return of a live studio audience, which was stopped in 2019 due to COVID-19.
8. The show will run for 72 days as housemates will both compete for the grand prize. Which will eventually end on Sunday, October 3, 2024.
9. This year’s winner is going home with N120 million worth of prizes. They will get 120 million Naira in cash and some other gifts, including a sports utility vehicle, a house, trips to a specific country, and other items from sponsors.
10. The show will maintain its voting style from last year. Voting will only be on the BBNAIJA website, voting poll, mobile site, and on DSTV and GOTV for active subscribers.
