The White House has declared March 30 a transgender day of visibility, which this year falls on Easter Sunday.
Joe Biden declared this in a formal statement on Friday, March 29th, 2024.
It wrote, ”NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility.”
He urged all Americans to unite in amplifying the experiences and voices of transgender individuals across the nation and to strive towards eradicating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
Recall that since the inception of the Biden administration, advocacy for LGBT rights has been a central focus of its policy agenda.

President Biden highlighted in his statement the appointment of transgender individuals to key positions within his administration and the reversal of the ban on transgender Americans serving openly in the military.
However, previous efforts by the Biden administration to promote transgender inclusivity at the White House have encountered challenges.
