Once again, a cult clash on Sunday claimed two lives as rival groups, Eiye and Aiye, engaged in violence in different parts of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
This incident occurred less than three weeks after a member of the Aye confraternity group, identified as Olumide Ifeoluwa, was shot dead by suspected members of the Eiye cult group.

Reports indicate that Sunday’s incident was in retaliation for the killing of Ifeoluwa.
The first victim, said to be a member of the Eiye cult group, was killed at Alogi in the Obantoko area of Abeokuta, while the second victim, identified as Timo Olukayode, reportedly a member of the Aiye Confraternity, was shot dead at Bode-Olude, both in Odeda Local Government Area of the State.
It was further gathered that Olukayode was shot while his head was also smashed with a stone.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, stated that she was yet to be briefed on the incidents.
