The Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Ibom Air, Mr George Uriesi, has stressed the importance of an enhanced collaboration and growth among aviation sector stakeholders.
At the Nigerian Aviation Fire and Safety Association (NAFSA) biennial conference held in Abuja with focus on ‘Rationale for Collaborations and Inclusiveness in Emergency Response Geared Towards Achieving the Aviation Roadmap,’ Uriesi emphasised the pivotal role of partnerships in emergency response strategies.
While highlighting the important role the fire and safety personnel play in the aviation ecosystem, the Ibom Air COO noted that NAFSA as a profession had hitherto been uncelebrated and overlooked but encouraged members of the association to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties.
Uriesi, who said the only time the fire fighters were recognised are during emergencies, however, acknowledged their important and life-saving role.
The conference, a pivotal event for aviation safety and emergency management professionals, served as a platform for robust discussions on advancing emergency response capabilities in line with Nigeria’s aviation roadmap.
The NAFSA conference was also an opportunity for stakeholders to stay informed about the latest advancements and strategies in the aviation sector.
The Ibom Air’s presence at the conference not only reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to safety and collaboration, but also signalled a proactive stance in shaping the future of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
