The Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Kaduna state chapter, Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha, has declared that he has no mandate to decide on whether elections conducted by the State Electoral Commission, were free, fair, or otherwise, saying that IPAC is an advisory body representing all registered political parties in Nigeria.
Reacting to a recent viral video, Hon. Tijjani stated that he was quoted out of context, as IPAC comprises 19 political parties, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a member.

Hon. Tijjani explained that in the video played on YouTube, he was only informing reporters about the full preparedness of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KASIECOM) for the local government elections. He also shared his findings from a visit with IPAC executives to KASIECOM and during visits to several polling units where sensitive materials had already been distributed.
The video was recorded while voting was taking place at the time he spoke with the reporters.
Hon. Tijjani reassured all IPAC members to continue working in line with the Inter-Party Advisory Council’s guidelines and its code of conduct.
