The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Dr Ajibola Basiru has joined millions of Nigerians Worldwide celebrating the pioneer Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Chief Adebisi Akande has he clocks 86 years.
In a congratulatory message, Dr Ajibola Basiru described Chief Akande as a one in a million politician, a huge and accessible bridge between the old and new breeds of Progressives politician.
“Baba Akande remains one of the very few of the old brigade of the Progressives transiting from the years of AG through the UPN,AD,AC,ACN and now APC. And one thing about Baba is he has been generous with his experience to some of us who believe in the ideal and core values of Progressives politics.”
“We are grateful to God to have him around at 86, hale and hearty, protecting Progressives political ideology from being polluted.”
Dr Ajibola Basiru acknowledged that Chief Adebisi Akande’s unwavering support for APC leading to its emergence on the national leadership scene since 2015 cannot be dismissed with a wave of the hand.
Basiru prays God to keep Baba further alive in sound health for the younger politicians to drink from his fountain of wisdom.
