A Northern Ethnic Youth Group, Assembly (NEYGA), has urged Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, to focus on addressing the ongoing issue of Boko Haram insurgency in his constituency and on promoting good governance in the country, rather than distracting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the spokesperson of the group, Mallam Ibrahim Dan-Musa, NEYGA criticised Senator Ndume for not doing enough to alleviate the suffering of his constituents despite his over two decades in the National Assembly.

The group highlighted that the insurgency continues to ravage his district, with significant resources being expended to fight the terrorists without success.

NEYGA called on Senator Ndume to collaborate with his constituents to find a lasting solution to the insurgency, rather than engaging in political grandstanding.

The group reminded Ndume of his past experiences in the Senate, including his earlier suspension and removal as Senate Leader, and encouraged him to use his influence to bring peace to his constituency and the country as a whole.

The statement emphasised that the security and welfare of the people should be of utmost importance to Senator Ndume, instead of engaging in political activities that do not benefit his constituents or the nation at large.
