THE chairman, Interparty Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) in Kaduna State, Ahmed Mustapha has inaugurated steering committees with a mandate to protect the interests of political parties and uphold transparency and fairness.

According to the IPAC chairman, the inauguration was happening five years after activities of the council in the state got stagnant.

He declared that, going forward, the IPAC in the state is now united, saying, “with collective advise, suggestion and wise counsel, we will definitely recreate a new IPAC with a positive direction and vision.”

The event saw the attendance of the leadership and members of the registered political parties, officials of the State Independent Electoral Commission, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders.

Mustapha said: “IPAC is established to facilitate dialogue, protect the interests of political entities and uphold the principle of transparency and fairness in our electoral process.

“We were elected and sworn in on 5th of February 2024. In our 7 months of stewardship, we are proud to mention that we are able to create a sense of belonging and direction for IPAC

“IPAC has operated for five years operating without steering committees, which is indicated in our code of conduct, so we are still proud to say we are doing an inauguration today.”

”IPAC in Kaduna State is now a united team and with your collective advise, suggestion and wise counsel, we will definitely recreate a new IPAC with a positive direction and vision.”

In his goodwill message, Professor Joseph Gambo, a Commissioner at KAD-SIECOM urged IPAC to conduct elections as and when due for its executive committee and avoid constituting caretaker committee which is not supported by their constitution.
