The Delta State Police Command has arrested a native doctor, recovering two skulls from him.

The state police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, disclosed this on Tuesday in a statement titled, ‘Delta State Police Command arrest a gang of suspected ritualists, arrest a native doctor in possession of two human skulls’.

According to the statement, the police was alerted on Thursday by one 35-year-old Ejiro Okoro who claimed that the corpse of his sister which was buried in 2019, has been exhumed by an unknown person.

During investigation, the police gathered that one 60-year-old Godfrey Akpudje, who was a native doctor, exhumed the corpse, and removed the skull.

“He was immediately arrested and two human skulls were recovered from him. He said he got one of the human skulls from Osun state from a native doctor who is now late,” the statement partly read.

In a similar development, a patrol team at Nsukwa junction along Ogwashi-Uku/Kwale road intercepted a commuter Sienna bus travelling from Asaba to Kwale on Monday.

While searching the passengers, a container filled with fresh human blood was discovered, leading to the immediate arrest of three suspects.

The suspects include 21-year-old Nwite Sunday, 27-year-old Monday Nwite and 26-year-old Madabuchi Nweke, who all hail from Ebenta village in Ohaukwu LGA, Ebonyi State.

“During interrogation the suspects confessed to have murdered some unknown persons in Ebonyi State and were on their way with the murdered person’s blood to a native doctor whose identity is unknown for now but resides in Kwale.

“They were taking the blood to the said native doctor for ritual purposes. One rosary necklace tied with charms was also recovered from them,” the statement revealed.

At the time of filing the report, investigations are ongoing on both cases.
