A coalition of political parties in Osun State has declared its readiness to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke in the 2026 polls, stating that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration in the state is gradually losing touch with the masses.
In a release issued on behalf of the group, the Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, said the coming together of the parties has become necessary as there is an urgent need to salvage the state from “the directionless governance it is experiencing presently.”
He noted that the Adeleke administration is falling short of people’s expectations, adding that, two years into office, the governor has not completed any tangible projects.
The statement read in parts, “Now, the reality has dawned on everybody. Mr. Governor prepared for the office of governor without any proper knowledge of Osun governance intricacies and particularities.

“Now, it has become imperative for us, like-minded political parties in the state, to rise to the occasion and save the state from more agony. We are having deliberations. Talks are progressing well, and the political parties involved are showing commitment to the project.
“They are all ready to work together to unseat Adeleke in 2026. Osun should expect a strong coalition that will work together and end the PDP administration in 2026. Osun people deserve better. We cannot continue to fold our hands and watch our common heritage go down the drain. The government of the day is disappointing Osun people.”
