Grammy Award-winning Afrobeats artist, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has lamented how tough the year 2023 has been for him.

The music star disclosed this via his official Instagram story on Sunday.

According to him, 2023 is a very tough year and one to forget. However, he revealed that he is looking forward to a better 2024 as 2023 comes to an end today.

He wrote, “23 show me shege! 24 be good to me!”

The ‘Bad to Me’ crooner’s latest revelation may not be unconnected to the death of his mother earlier this year.

Recall that Tribune online reports in August that Wizkid’s mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, sadly passed away on August 18, 2023.

Following the death, the artist has continued to mourn his mother’s demise, describing it as the deepest pain he has ever felt in his life.
