Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, announced on Wednesday the passing of Alhaji Jimoh Oyekanmi, a PDP member and the Caretaker Chairman of Ede North Local Government.
The Governor expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that God would grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
The governor, through his spokeswoman, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, released a statement stating, “The sudden death of Alhaji Oyekanmi is devastating, not only to his family but also to Osun State, particularly Ede North Local Government, which has lost a trusted hand in delivering good governance.”
“My heartfelt condolences go out to his immediate family, the people of Ede North, the PDP family, and everyone touched by his demise.
It is my prayer that Almighty Allah comforts his family and loved ones and gives them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
“Alhaji Jimoh was a politician with a purpose, always prioritising the good of all above his personal interests in every situation.
During the struggle for the enthronement of the Imole government, Alhaji Jimoh showed discipline and made unimaginable sacrifices.”
“Alhaji Jimoh was a long-time member of the Adeleke political dynasty, but he meant much more to me. He was loyal to a fault and reliable, no matter the circumstances.”
“Alhaji Jimoh’s impact on Osun politics, particularly in Ede North, where he was a strong grassroots mobilizer for our great party, the PDP, is hard to miss.
Ede town and the PDP have lost one of their finest, and I mourn this huge loss of a man who contributed so much to society.”
“May Allah Subhana watahala be pleased with his soul and grant him Aljanah Firdaus. Amin,” the statement concluded.
