Bandits suspected to be kidnappers terrorising residents of Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State have resurfaced, invaded and attacked three communities in the area where no fewer than 4 persons were kidnapped.

Recall that the State Police Command in collaboration with sister security agencies and quasi security personnel stormed the Burra and Yadagungume forests during which they neutralized a number of the bandits, arrested some of them and rescued some kidnap victims. 

A reliable source told our Correspondent that on Thursday night, the terrorists attacked Sanger settlement in Kwangoro village and abducted one person for ransom. 

He however said that he could not ascertain how much they are demanding but noted that negotiation was ongoing to secure his release from captivity. 

The source added that similarly, on Saturday night, the  gunmen invaded Billiri Gorore Village in Lumbu Community and kidnapped two people in the process, namely; Alhaji Chibi and Alhaji Siba.

It was gathered that the bandits in another different operation, attacked Yadagungume town on Saturday night and abducted a Nursing mother, the wife of one of the businessmen based in the town, who narrowly escaped from the attack.

A security source confirmed to our correspondent that the incidence occurred at about 1:00am when the gunmen forcefully entered the house of one Alh Abdussalam Jibrin Yaudo in Yadagungume and kidnapped his wife, a Nursing mother, Adama Abdussalam, aged 20.

When contacted on the development, Caretaker Chairman of Ningi local government area, Hon Ibrahim Zubairu, confirmed the incidents, saying that on receiving the report, he immediately mobilized the security personnel to the affected communities.

He said that the local government authorities are doing its best unrelentingly putting efforts towards arresting the insecurity issues bedeviling the peace and tranquility of the area.

The Council boss said that they are recording a great success in the fight against insecurity whereby before the recent attacks, communities within the LGA live in harmony for 16 days without any report of kidnapping activities.

He however pointed out that this was informed by the concerted efforts meted-out by the state Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, to ensure that the lives and property of the common man are fully protected.

Ibrahim Zubairu assured that his Council will not rest on its oars in safeguarding lives and properties of the citizens by collaborating with all security agencies.

Efforts to get confirmation from the State Police Command failed as the PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili did not respond to calls put through to his mobile phone number nor did he reply to the SMS and whatsapp messages sent to his mobile phone number as of the time of filing this report.
