The Bauchi State Government has pledged its commitment to providing adequate security for all residents of the state, while simultaneously seeking renewed commitment from security agencies to that effect.

Governor Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, in particular, called on the Nigeria Police Force to consolidate on the gains recorded in the fight against crimes, criminalities, banditry, and other forms of insecurity across the state.

The assertion was made during a familiarization visit to the Government House in Bauchi by the newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi, Dasuki Galadanci on Tuesday.

Governor Bala Mohammed acknowledged the sacrifices of police personnel and other relevant security agencies operating in the state to ensure the safety and security of the state and its residents. He called for the sustenance of these efforts.

The Governor informed the AIG that areas mostly affected by the activities of suspected bandits and kidnappers are all the local government areas neighbouring states from the Northwestern part of the country.

To facilitate effective security operations across the state, Bala Mohammed mentioned that a Ministry of Internal Security has been created to provide all the needed support in the area.

He highlighted that the state is enjoying relative peace due to the support of personnel from the Nigeria Police and other security agencies. The Governor urged the people of the state to continue supporting them with useful information on the activities of criminals.

He commended the Nigeria Police in the state for not being partisan during the 2023 General elections period but operated based on professional guidelines and particularly emphasized Community Policing.

While assuring of his administration’s readiness to support the AIG in discharging his duties, the Governor also charged him to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his predecessors.

Earlier, the newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dasuki Galadanci, appreciated the state government for prioritizing the well-being of citizens. He assured to introduce new security strategies that would enhance the general operations of the police and other security personnel.

He informed the Governor that he was at the Government House to familiarize himself with the Governor as the newly posted AIG for the Zone 12 headquarters.

The AIG commended Governor Bala Mohammed for the support to the Police and other security agents, pledging their unalloyed loyalty and support for a crime-free state.

He, however, appealed to the people of Bauchi State to continue having confidence in the Nigeria Police by providing them with useful information on various happenings in their respective areas for continuous development.

The AIG Zone 12 is in charge of Bauchi and Gombe States Commands of the Nigeria Police.
