Bauchi Govt and Police form Mobile Court to prosecute ‘Sara-Suka’ thugs

Worried by the increasing criminal activities of political urchins popularly known as ‘Sara-Suka’ terrorising innocent people, Bauchi State Government in collaboration with the State Police Command is to establish a Mobile Court that will handle the prompt and immediate prosecution of the political thugs for perpetrating  various forms of crimes and criminalities. 

The disclosure was made by the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir while receiving the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Musa Muhammad Auwal at Government House Bauchi on Tuesday.

The Governor explained that it is part of the commitment to address the prevalence of youth restiveness especially the menace of the Sara Suka boys which is more pronounced within the State capital.

The Governor also informed the Police Commissioner that the activities of criminals is gradually resurfacing hence the move to take effective proactive actions to secure the citizens.

According to him, his administration would equally introduce empowerment programmes aimed at engaging unemployed youths in useful ventures in order to take them off social vices.

Bala Mohammed said that, “We are very much grateful to receive our August visitor. We also thank the IG who sent a dedicated and resilience person like you considering your resume read the PPRO.”

He stressed that, “In Bauchi, we recognize the need to partner with the Federal Government for adequate development, transformation and safety of our people in which we have experienced remarkable helping hands and we look forward for further collaboration and development.”

Furthermore, the Governor said that Kano and Bauchi States are like brothers considering the fact that Bauchi is an extension of Kano because,”we have the same temperament and attitudes in terms of development and peaceful coexistence.” 

He added that, “Your experiences in Kano will help us vastly in curtailing the security challenges in our state as all hands are going to be on desk in ensuring the safety of Bauchi people.”

Speaking earlier, the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Musa Muhammad Auwal acknowledged the security challenges of the state and informed the Governor that already  measures are being taken to salvage the state against the notorious acts.

According him, upon assuming office, he visited and solicited support from traditional leaders and heads of sister security agencies in a bid to strengthen collaboration.

He appreciated the Governor for the warm welcome and the opportunity to visit him in his office saying, “I’m so glad and excited to visit you in your office for a courtesy call. It’s God Almighty’s wish that I will come to Bauchi State to serve the good people of Bauchi State, especially under the leadership of you, your Excellency and I want to reiterate and confirm to you that I will do whatever is within my post whatever humanly possible for the safety of the people of Bauchi State.”

The Commissioner of Police further said, “I am ever determined to create and extend all the knowledge that we have towards curtailing criminal activities in Bauchi State considering that fact that I have made so many inquiries about the leadership style of Governor Bala and I’ve found out that he is a kind of leader that tend to collaborate and give out all his best towards ensuring the peaceful atmosphere of Bauchi.”

He said that,”I will be visiting you for advice on some certain critical issues considering you are the number one and Chief Security Officer of the state. All hands are going to be on desk to see that the people of Bauchi State enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.” 

Musa Auwal added that,”I equally want to let you know that, being the fact that we cannot do it alone, we have other sister  securities agencies which I have already extended my visits to some of them especially the DSS, The Military pending the time I will visit the NSCDS, The Correctional Services and equally our amiable Emirs.”

He concluded stating that,”Because, the nature of the work that we are going to do is referred as public partnership we will need to involve all the traditional rulers and other stakeholders to ensure we free Bauchi State from any challenges that us receiving.”
