The Chairman Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Mohammed Ndume has said Boko Haram fighters are now dressing in women attires while attacking communities in Borno State.

Ndume disclosed this while briefing newsmen on his reelection for the 5th time in to the red chamber, he said recently the Boko Haram fighters dressed in women attires attacked his community, killed one person and injured five others on elections day.

According to him, “now Nigeria Army is averagely equipped compared to what had happened in the past where Boko Haram fighters captured many local government areas in Borno.

He noted that, Boko Haram fighters intended to prevent elections in the area, targeted three places in Gwoza which include, INEC office, Gwoza primary and Ajari.

“We are very grateful for the gallant outing by the arm force and other security agencies in Gwoza, particularly the Battalion commander for showing bravery”.

“It took them just about an hour to calm the situation, I want to say that the Nigerian Army now averagely equipped because I was I amazed by the equipment they have when they started firing from the mountain they were able to get their targets from their situation room”.

Boko Haram are now manufacturing local bullets, they dress in women dress to come and attack communities and that affected the voters turn out in Gwoza” he said.

He congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shattima for winning the just concluded 2023 general elections.

He described the 2023 general elections as credible, free and fair.

“I know there are some problems with BVAS machines in some places, but we thank God APC emerged victorious.

Ndume also sympathized with fire victims in Monday market in Maiduguri, vowing to bring FG assistance to them.
