A student of the Kinsey College of Education in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, Yakubu Ahmed has been remanded at the correctional service centre for allegedly causing the death of his friend, Farouq Ahmed.

The duo, according to the First Information Report, FIR, engaged in physical combat during which they used knives to inflict various degrees of injuries on each other.

Nationnewslead reports that the duo were rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH, in Ilorin, but Ahmed later died as a result of the injuries sustained during the fight.

Police report revealed that the fight ensued as a result of missing plates kept in the custody of the deceased.

Trial Magistrate, Adebayo Kudus, in his ruling, said he could only take cognizance of the case but lacked jurisdiction to entertain it.

He adjourned the matter till March 21, 2022, for mention. Continue Reading
