Kogi State Police Command has arrested the Inspector of Police whose wife sells Cannabis Sativa and other illicit drugs and also commenced investigation into the alleged clash between the Police and Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) personnel in Lokoja.

Recalled that on Monday, Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and officers of the Nigeria Police Force engaged in a physical tussle over the arrest of a police Inspector’s wife allegedly caught with a bag of Cannabis Sativa and other illicit drugs.

According to sources, the wife of the police inspector was arrested at the Area Command office while distributing the marijuana from her husband’s car, an ash Volkswagen parked inside the station.

However, when the NDLEA operatives moved to take her away with the vehicle, some policemen challenged them and it led to a fight.

“Furthermore, while the NDLEA personnel wanted to take away the car, one of the personnel on duty at the gate of the area Command Office challenged them that the car belonged to his colleague. But unknown to him the woman was trailed to the car and equally arrested with a package of substance suspected to be Indian hemp. Immediately a senior officer intervened and brought normalcy while the woman was taken away by the NDLEA operatives without any incident.

“The Inspector is in custody, he has been defaulted and orderly room trial has commenced.”
