No fewer than four people including a village head of the Yargeda community of Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State were killed by bandits on Wednesday.
Nationnewslead assembled that the gang was led by a bandits’ leader identified as Katare who stormed the community and operated easily without any challenge from the security operatives, adding that the operation started at about 12:30am to 2:15 am.
An eyewitness disclosed that several people were kidnapped, pointing out the village, Yargeda is about a kilometre away from the Nigeria military base located at the outskirt of the colony area in Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of the State.
Following the incident, the State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has given the locals the go-ahead to defend themselves against the bandits’ attack.
The Governor explained that running away frоm the bandits would not solve the problem, advising the locals to engage the bandits on fire for fire operations.
