It’s interesting to note that the current political system we operate in the country has placed the political leaders on a two concepts of leadership that differentiate one from the other.
The tow concepts of leadership upon which our leaders are placed are: Power driven leadership and Servant leader model.
Dr Ojumu Desmond Oludare is seen as a true example of servant leader due to his numerous life touching programmes across the length and breadth of the region.
Unlike power driven leaders that are much concern about how to accumulate and manipulate people for personal gains, deceive to gain people’s mandate, self centred in their decisions and ended up in exploiting them.
The case is quite different for servant leaders, their major interest in gaining power is to identify and meeting the needs of the people on a more reliable scale.
Dr Ojumu is tested over the years to be a true, committed and sincere servant leader. He’s known for his usual saying like “What do people need and how can I help them to get it, what affects my society, what will benefit them most, how will I take as many graduates as possible out of the streets and fix them in suitable working places.
However, rather than embark on a quest for personal power, Ojumu being a true servant leader embarks on a quest for power not to gain personal interest but to identify and meet the needs of others.
Power to him is a means to helping others and not an end in itself. He has been using his position of authority to assist the needy and less privileged people in the society.
Dr Ojumu is indeed serving the masses in different capacities by creating an enabling environment where needed for both the educated and non educated stakeholders within his region.
The dividend of democracy we’re presently witnessing through him would be multiple if given a chance to represent Oriade /Obokun Federal Constituency come 2023.
He has over the years tested to be a reliable, responsible, responsive, industrious, accessible, accountable, indefatigable, and indispensable Man who has always been up and doing in giving back to his people.
Thus, Oriade/Obokun deserves a true and outstanding Man like him to be at the helm of affairs at the Green Chamber. Continue Reading
