The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Ekiti State Branch, Joel Akinola, has urged the governor-elect, Biodun Oyebanji, to apply the experience he has garnered over the years in act of governance in moving the state forward.

Akinola also urged Oyebanji to, on the assumption of office in October, prioritize the welfare and wellness of pensioners, saying, “We want you to ensure pensioners no longer suffer at old age after service to the state during our active days.”

The pensioners’ chairman, who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Friday when the governor-elect paid a thank you visit to the retirees in the state following his victory in the June 18 Ekiti governorship election, also presented the Holy Bible to him just as the senior citizens offered prayers to put his administration on a good footing as he would be taking over affairs of the state mid-October.

He told Oyebanji, “You are not a novice in the mechanics and dynamics of state administration. We appeal to you to please always apply this in moving the state forward, developing the land and its people.” Continue Reading
