American Veterans of Igbo Descent in Jacksonville, Florida, United States of America have raised their concern about the safety of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu who is under incarceration in DSS detention in Abuja.

According to a member of the group, Dr Emeka Offor, the group had earlier written President Bola Tinubu in a letter jointly signed by the group’s President, Chief Dr Sylvester Onyia, and Secretary, Dr. Godson Obiagwu, stating “Your government should be such that protects lives, especially that of innocent man, Kanu.”

The statement further, “It should be such that restores the rule of law that has been marred by the fragrantly disobeying of court orders by the previous administration of President Mohammadu Buhari”.

He urged President Tinubu “Do not allow anything to happen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu under your watch. Please do not allow mindless people to collapse a union that is already fragile. Note that Nigeria cannot afford another Abiola’s case”.

According to Dr. Offor, the group which comprised of highly placed individuals from Nigeria had advised MKO Abiola about the faith that was about to befall him, noting that their advice was ignored stating that now, they are advising the President, that now he is in charge he should ensure that Kanu is released.
